Launching Cuttie In Your Face's new 'Tips' tab!

Hello and welcome to the launch of a new Cuttie In Your Face tab: 'Tips'.

Clicking on this tab will take you to all of the posts I will/have post(ed) (today is the first) that help you do things better in surfing - be they in the water, or on land with your gear/setup.

Much of my own surfing history is in making surf wax. This being the case, I thought I'd post a clip that shows you how to make your own environmentally friendly surf wax at home.

There are heaps of demos out there, but this is the simplest one I could find.

Enjoy.

The last day of Joel Tudor week

So on this, the seventh day of me showcasing Joel Tudors silky smooth surfing, I'm ending the week with another video clip of the guy.

This clip is a little different to what you may have been expecting though: It's a clip of seeming home footage that shows some of Joel's progression as a surfer growing up. I'm pretty sure it includes one of his earliest sessions as a kid.

I suggest you pay particular attention to the first half of the clip where Joel surfs as a grom. Note how much he absolutely ripped - even back then!

I hope you've enjoyed this week.

Joel's on the nose...

... metaphorically and literally speaking.

Joel Tudor, while considered a very versatile surfer, is more recognised for his longboarding exploits.

If you've been regularly reading my posts of late, you'll have noticed that when Joel surfs, he spends most of his time on the nose of his board.

Three Tudor days to go

Today's clip of this week's featured surfer, Joel Tudor, I believe was filmed at California's famous Trestles.

With some shots also taken at Malibu Beach.

Look out for Joel's usual smooth style in both lefts and rights of small to medium height.

Day four

Today, on day four of my expose on Joel Tudor, I thought I'd attach a link that gives you a bit of information on the guy - a bid of insight into who he is and what's shaped him (again, pardon the pun):

Information about Joel Tudor

And now some photos:

Day three = (another) Day Joel

So as I research Joel Tudor a bit more, as part of my seven day tribute to the dude, I learn that he's got his own line of surfboards.

If you know a bit about the guy, you won't be surprised that there's definitely a bit of a longboard theme to his quiver.

Check out his line at the following site:

What did you think? I liked the 'Karma' model the most - looks super fun!

Based on negative past experiences, I thought I'd never again go for a boutique brand board. Now I'm not so sure. The smooth lines and curves of this board, coupled with Joel's smooth style, has kind of got me salivating to try something like this out.

Anyway, as promised, I'm posting another clip of Joel. I promised smoothness, and this is the smoothest one I can find (for now at least):

A brief happy birthday... and more Joel Tudor

Today marks the first day of summer back home in Australia and, more importantly, Cuttie In Your Face's first birthday!

Source: www.blueberryvisuals.se/2011/11/

What a year: I've learnt a bit about blogging (hopefully you think Cuttie In Your Face is getting a bit better as time goes on); I've had just shy of 10,000 hits (averaging just over 27 a day); and have enjoyed myself along the way.

Most importantly, I'd like to thank all of those who have supported me. Your readership and constructive advice has helped give me enthusiasm to keep posting and getting better. As always, I will continue to welcome your comments and ideas now and in the future.

As for you, I hope Cuttie In Your Face has become a 'surf spot' where the conditions are always right (or more often than not at least). I hope I have achieved my goal and effectively shared the stoke and soulful sides of surfing with you. Please pull me up if you ever feel I drift away from this purpose.

Lastly, as always, I continue to welcome your input. Please feel free to contribute if you have any surf-related photos, clips, reviews, recipes and links. I'd love for you to feel that you can be a part of this blog. All contributions can be emailed to me at: l.gorajek@gmail.com

In the coming 12 months I hope to make a few more changes to this blog.

Amongst these will be new tabs for 'tips', 'tunes' and 'travel'. Well, that's where my mind is right now anyway. Additionally, I hope to spend more time learning about the art of blogging itself. The aim is to build something that is increasingly relevant to you.

Again, I always welcome your feedback as to how I'm doing.

For what it's worth, today is also day two of my week-long homage to Joel Tudor. I've attached three pics of Joel doing his thing.

It's funny: while all of the pics are spectacular, they kind of make him look the same as anybody else. Tomorrow I'm going to try to find more videos of him. I feel motion picture is the best way to show just how silky smooth Joel is.

Again, sincerely, thank you for supporting Cuttie In Your Face.
