Your Ed pig-dogging

Tomorrow, I'm heading off to Innes National Park with Dad for a short, four day holiday.

It's the venue of many special surf trips for me.

So before heading off on this short trip, I thought I'd share with you a kooky clip of me trying to pig-dog myself into a small left hand barrel there just under 12 months ago.

I had many similar waves at this spot on this day, but unfortunately I couldn't get deep enough into many of them. So, no tubes for me...

Special and worth sharing

The mother of all filthy stinkies:

Finally, I score visiting home

I'm typically used to getting very unlucky when I go home to visit with on-shore winds or small swell.

Finally, on a visit back home, I got some pretty good waves at South Australia's Waitpinga Beach.

Me and my friend Gav found a fun sand bank with a medium sized swell.

Good times.

Julian Wilson ripping up Trestles

Ladies' favourite, Julian Wilson, is certainly a dynamic surfer. With his technical bag of tricks, he kind of reminds me of, in snowboarding terms, a 'jib kid'.

A definition of 'jib'

If you want to 'friend' his official Facebook site, just click below to get there:

Anyway, back to surfing:

I found a clip of Julian ripping up California's famous Trestles.

I think the clip's impressive and well worth a watch.

Get amongst it!

Launching Cuttie In Your Face's new 'Tips' tab!

Hello and welcome to the launch of a new Cuttie In Your Face tab: 'Tips'.

Clicking on this tab will take you to all of the posts I will/have post(ed) (today is the first) that help you do things better in surfing - be they in the water, or on land with your gear/setup.

Much of my own surfing history is in making surf wax. This being the case, I thought I'd post a clip that shows you how to make your own environmentally friendly surf wax at home.

There are heaps of demos out there, but this is the simplest one I could find.

Enjoy.

The last day of Joel Tudor week

So on this, the seventh day of me showcasing Joel Tudors silky smooth surfing, I'm ending the week with another video clip of the guy.

This clip is a little different to what you may have been expecting though: It's a clip of seeming home footage that shows some of Joel's progression as a surfer growing up. I'm pretty sure it includes one of his earliest sessions as a kid.

I suggest you pay particular attention to the first half of the clip where Joel surfs as a grom. Note how much he absolutely ripped - even back then!

I hope you've enjoyed this week.

Joel's on the nose...

... metaphorically and literally speaking.

Joel Tudor, while considered a very versatile surfer, is more recognised for his longboarding exploits.

If you've been regularly reading my posts of late, you'll have noticed that when Joel surfs, he spends most of his time on the nose of his board.
