A blast from the past

Having recently come back from an unsuccessful surf trip to Yorkes, Dad got a bit sentimental and went back into the family photo album.

There he found photos of our first ever trip to Yorkes in 1993, and of one of the first three waves I ever got to my feet on.

These photos were taken at Pondalowie Bay on the eastern side of Innes National Park.

This first photo is of me and my younger bro getting some tips from one of our instructors.

This photo is of me heading into the water to have a crack.

I was excited because it was pitting that day. Not!

And this last photo is a rare one of me getting to my feet. We were on a three or four day surf camp, and over that whole period I only got to my feet three times.

This camp was the first time I was ever on a surfboard.

Ahhh... the memories.
